Atomos investigates architecture and city as systems of permanent transformation and can be read as a metaphor for the complete decay of technological systems. The 'possibilities of dead technology' do not designate an end state. Every technological order contains its future obsolescence and ultimately the certainty of its decay. Loss of function can generate ruin, resource, memory and new spatial orders. Atomos moves between construction and destruction, precision and entropy, human imagination and automated process. The technological process can become a co-producer of a spatial development whose outcome escapes the complete control of its author. In today's context of generative and algorithmic systems, this early investigation acquires renewed relevance: architecture is conceived not only in its emergence, but also in its possible dissolution, recoding and renewed transformation.
