Open-Air Bath Piscina investigates architecture as a continuation and transformation of existing spatial orders. Its point of departure is the fragmentary built traces of earlier spatial strategies, particularly foundation structures, whose underlying geometric principles become the basis for an experimental process of form generation. Similar to an archaeological excavation, existing spatial traces are not reconstructed but extended through new spatial strategies. This investigation simultaneously generates strategies for the use of thermal springs, geothermal energy, and solar energy harvesting. Energy systems thus emerge from the spatial conception itself rather than being added as subsequent technical components. The Genius Loci is preserved as a spatial and cultural continuity, while existing structures are rearticulated and previous uses are overwritten. Architecture thereby becomes a method of spatial continuation in which time itself operates as a constitutive dimension of space.
